Title: A Custom Exhaust Like No Other!
Post by: Anonymous on February 15, 2006, 21:36
Hi all,

Took my "2" round to the good ol boys down at tiger exhausts in collumpton, devon for a consultation on what might be best. After deliberation, we came to the notion that a twin 3" round pipe with a centre exit could be achieved. Has anyone thought of this yet?

I certainly havn't seen it anywhere and when we offered up the pipes it looked fantastic! Think TVR/Elise/Porcshe!

Unfortunately this will come at a price, however, in the name of something a little different I believe it will be worth it.

A custom metal heatshield is also involved so watch this space! The stock plastic one is just a joke.

Should put approx 10bhp onto the power and I have an induction kit already fitted so will dyno test it once fitted.

Thoughts/comments are appreciated before I sign up to this!

What I saw today looked a shite site better than that, we offered up a number of different tails, the one in that pic looks like about a 3.5" which really looks to beefy for a "2" Mine was only a twin 3"

I Love the 2 but I also dont forget that it only has a 1.8 engine, when I see oversize exhausts it reminds me of the end of an episode of the flintstones, a car with excessive regailia dumped on it that really looks out of place and doesnt live up to potential!

As for veilside, well, veilside shmeilside, where over the top plastic cannot be more expensive! Im aiming to break the mould! (To a certain extent at least)

Like you say, it is uncommon, which is why Im doing it! Thanks for the input, this site is great for bumping heads together, so many ideas which is simply fantastic!

True, but Ian's car was also sporting a turbo, and (going by dyno sheets on the same turbo setup) producing >200bhp..

Do you not think it looks just a little to big though, turbo or not? I guess it is down to personal preference, I am going for looks first, then performance.

I only modify to the point that is how they should have rolled out of the factory in the first place.

200bhp? how do they cope with the body roll at high speeds and the ability to change lanes on the motorway whilst keeping the steering wheel straight?

I have major issues with the handling on this car at high speeds, can anyone help? Stabilizers, there appear to be some stock ones on the car anyway? There must be a solution,  any ideas????

You get used to different tip sizes.
I know when I first put my Magnex box on, I thought the twin 4" pipes were a it OTT, but I quite like them now.
I think that someone on the site said about a similar box, that you could lose small animals up them. Must have a look to see what I have collected!!  s:lol:  s:lol:

I agree, at first they look big, especially when you hold the tips in your hand sizing them up to the car.  When they're on there and you stand back and look they look right, I went for 3.5inch, but they're not centred.  There is another guy out there, think he's from portugal, he has a centre tiped system.  They look pretty good, but you probably need a bodykit like in the pic above to balance out the rear.

There are a few twin centre exhausts already available like Ricoh and Zees.

Have a look at euroroadster.com
