Title: Inspecting brake pads
Post by: Anonymous on February 17, 2006, 11:28
Hi all,

I had the discs and pads changed at the last service (plenty of discussion elsewhere about this) and the mechanic told me that the pads wear much more on the inside than the outer. Obviously I can see the outside pads easily to check for wear but what do people recommend for inspecting the inside ones without removing the wheel? I have an angled mirror but what I'm hoping is there is some magic trick or inspection hole for me to do this.....

Thanks

Richard

There's a hole in the brake caliper, look through it and you can see both pads.

Thanks. Presume I can do it without putting the car up on ramps?

I'm not sure, I never tried it, but I assume you can see it with a mirror.
