This is the first problem i've come across since having the car and it's enoying me   s:x :x s:x

Happened about a month ago, started to hear a scraping/rattling noice, especially at high revs, made me think the worst, had a look under the hood but it was at night and couldnt see much, next morn after a restless night had another look and saw the problem straight away, could'nt belive i missed it ...

The new heatshield with the TTE logo has four bolts to secure it in place, well one was missing and another, was unscrewed, went to mr t and they sorted me out with a new bolt and washer but had to adjust a bolt by cutting it down cus they didnt have the TTE sizes

noticed the noice again yesterday, had a look today and another one is unscrewed, plus they are so rusted, so for SP and you guys getting this kit change the bolts and get some washers.

Possibly they weren't tightened up enough on the install and worked themselves loose?

Get some locking spring washers under the head of the bolt, that should sort it.

that isnt the problem because i've tightened them up my self, but with the bolt that got replaced i used a washer aswell and it seems to be doing the job, so i think TTE got that part wrong, my advice is just to change them all!

Had the same problem but it is now fixed when the car went in for the 10k service. The manager even wanted a spin in the car and was very impressed as he drive a compressor corolla which he gave me a drive in.  s:D :D s:D    s:D :D s:D

This has happened to SP's car too; it's evidently not the greatest solution from TTE themselves. At least it's an easy fix!
