How much of a job is it to change a radiator, could i do it or is it one for the mechanics?

yes i did mean air conditioning, its ust that the main radiator has the A/C one in front of it and that makes things more awkward.

Errr, I would have, as i got back from manchester (about 4pm) it was snowing a blizard anyway.

We said we wouldnt meet cos we were going to look at the strut at the track instead. remember ?

Sorry for the confusion, appart from the grueling drive back from oop norf, I would have loved to.

Thanx stu, how long will it take to do? have you got a diagram of how to drain the radiator, do i have to get under the car?

easiest way is to remove the front bumper, instructions on that are over at spyder magazine. then remove the trim panel under the bonnet, i'd leave a day to do everything

got another question, seeing as mine has got a turbo with its cooling system on that, it still would be alrite to do the same process as a stock one?

Not sure what you mean by that, but the swap will be identical as an N/A engine.

well it has it s own intercooler that comes in the turbo kit and i wasnt sure if that is connected to the cooling system so would i need to take extra care when draining the system?

too many variables in engine design to say. depends on how it was plumbed in but generally yes, if its connected to the stock system then just make sure you bleed the turbo lines as well.

It's an air-to-air intercooler, so there's no coolant in it.

Personally, having heard the trouble some people have had bleeding their cooling systems on the 1ZZ, it's not something I'd try myself.

What are you replacing it with?

its the C-ONE calorie up radiator! got it on thursday and went to mr t and booked it in for next sat but it will cost about £160 to do, so i thought i mite have a bash at it on sunday, depending on the weather

I'd get Toyota to fit it. Considering it's a non-standard part, and the cooling system flows through the turbo that you've just got, if you have any problems then that's your warranty for the turbo right out of the window.

At least if Mr T do it, you've got partial comeback.
