I was told that stock shocks of MR2 are Kayaba!!
If this is true, Toyota has made a great choice!!!

I searched for aftermarket shocks, and I found some kayaba ones.
Are the kayaba aftermarket shocks the same with stock ones, or they are both Kayaba, but different model?

If car is already with Kayaba, then why change to an aftermarket solution?

Thansk in advance.

By the way, anyone know what make are the stock springs?

I while back I had a celica GT4 and the stock shocks were KYB, but the aftermarket KYB shocks were 20% stiffer. AFAIK the TRD shocks were by KYB too, but a different model again.

Yes, KYB makes shocks for Toyota and TRD.

No, shocks labeled as KYB, Toyota and TRD aren't the same.

(moved from appearance to maintenance, shocks are hardly an appearance mod)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

I'd be surpriced if Eibach made springs for a japanese car manufacturer.  s:? :? s:?

(Eibach does make springs for TTE, maybe you were thinking of that?)

Apologies, I was indeed thinking of the TTE.

Though they do have factories around the world, it's still a german company. Japanese don't tend to use european stuff that much.

Also, Eibach only says they make OEM springs for Ferrari, BMW, Volkswagen and Ford.
