Hi guys, just a thought..

but my new engine is now in and working, maybe it was a loose connection, he just unplugged all leads and put back in and it works..

i now have an engine that is screwed a spare exhaust system and CAT.

but, can i not practice/gut my old cat and then just replace that?? cus if i was cleaning it once the pre cats are out, there would be no left over particles or crap in there to ruin my new engine??? would there??

Leon, you are misunderstanding.

You could have gutted the old manifold yes.
You were advised not to use the main cat from a pre-cat failure car for the reason that bits of pre-cat are most likely to have blocked the main cat, hence the advice to replace the main cat.

Gut the old manifold yes as you are removing all trace of pre-cat. You cant do the same to a main cat from a pre-cat failure car, hence the advice to replace the main cat.

Members have been good enough to tell you UMPTEEN times about the precat/cat situation, and you have chosen to ignore it over and over again. What you on about!! it clearly says i have read and been advised i needed to change the CAT.. thats what i have done!!!! i was on about cleaning the old 1, maybe misunderstanding the linkeage between the CAT and the PRE CAT... im not the best at understanding these things, but i have already got the new cat in, just going to gut the pre cats on my old system..  s:? :? s:?

You can fit the manifold from your old engine to the new one as long as the pre-cats completely gutted

You can not reuse the old main cat.

If you have problems with any of the above please post again...  s;) ;) s;)

Look Leon, one last time

you need to remove the precats from the HEADER and use a clean or new main cat.

and do not use the main cat from a car thats had precat failure or you will kill your new engine

thats it, no more, no less
