Apologies guys if this has cropped up before. Did a quick search but couldnt find what I was looking for.   s:oops:  s:oops:  Getting a rattling noise coming from the soft top catch on the drivers side only. Happens infrequently when I go over bumps, holes in road etc.. and just wonder whether the top needs to be tightened up as I reckon the rattle could be caused by the top being slack at the catch. Is it possible to do this? (easily!!)

It has come up before but I can;t find it either  s:oops:  s:oops:

The catches can be adjusted. When they're filpped in the "open" position, have a look for the adjustment nut - Its held in position by a clip. Unclip the clip(!), twizzle the nut, re-clip and you're away. Don't have 'em too tight though.

Also check that the striker plates at the top of the windscreen haven't come loose. They should be OK as they're bolted in with shedloads of nutlock gloop, but one of mine started to come adrift. If they need a tweak you'll need a crown bit to do it.

PS rattles on bumps are not uncommon in the '2, especially in colder weather. Expect a few niggles in exchange for big driving satisfaction  s:wink:  s:wink:

Thanks Ste. The striker plate is solid in place so am assuming it is more the catch at fault. Looked at it early this evening and see what you mean, the last thing I want to do is overtighten it. Can imagine what Mr T would say if I cocked it up, ripped the topped and asked them to fix it.  s:lol:  s:lol:    s:lol:  s:lol:  Will give it a go tomorrow, thanks.
