I have happily owned my MR-S for almost a year now. I originally bought it as a ''weekend' car to be driven during good weather etc but have found that my 'everyday' car has become completeley redundant, owing to the driveability of the mr-s, even on a motorway commute.

For this reason I have decided to go back to owning just one car and upgrading my 1999 imported MR-S for a new MR2. However Toyota are discontinuing the current MR2 and i was wondering if anybody knew of any plans for a NEW MR2 in the future? I can't believe that Toyota would cease making the brilliant MR2 forever??!!!

It will be a petrol-electric hybrid with a hardtop like a new MX5 and those godawful Peugeot 206/307 CC things.

I bet the new one willl have a boot also.

Well we know the MR3 is a fake, compare the reflection with the car.

i heard that they were not going to make another mr2, and they were phasing out the celica as well.

the idea being to bring a new car out that hit both markets, kind of a cross breed.

i may be wrong but this was told to me by a toyota mechanic, on a testdrive 5 months ago.

take it however, but i hope he's wrong, these are great cars.

If there is going to be a MR2/Celica with a hybrid engine the GS 450h one being tested here could be it.

Hi everyone, I saw this in Tokyo a while back at the Toyota showcase, not sure if would ever progress further?

I wonder if Toyota would go down the road of a metal folding roof similar to the MX-5?

Waywal

This should be in Chit-Chat, but why didn't Toyota put the Prius hybrid engine or similar in the Auris?
