Strange problem - radio circuit fused?

Hi all,

Strange problem - was tidying up the wiring for stereo etc this morning and fused the circuit (I heard the fuse blow).

No surprise there, but both Radio1 and Radio2 fuses are still OK (definitely not blown) - replaced with new anyway, didn't solve.

Entire radio circuit is off (including clock), so its not a loose wire.

Any suggestions???

Quick update to my own problem...

Radio circuit remains off, and along with it remote locking and beeps!!!  Am I missing a third fuse somewhere, or have I broken something else??

Which fuses have you checked?  Best bet is going to be to check them all if you haven't already - remember you need to check the ones on the side of the dash and the ones under the engine cover..

The symptoms are a little odd if your remote locking has also stopped functioning, as I can't find any common fuses between that and the clock/radio, but here's a list of fuses to pay attention to:

AM2 (14) in the fusible link container (engine bay) - 15A
RADIO1 (8) as above - 15A
GAUGE (7) in the dashboard fuseblock - 7.5A
AM1 (11) as above - 7.5A
ACC (12) as above - 25A
RADIO1 (19) as above - 15A
DOME (20) as above - 10A
RADIO2 (24) as above - 7.5A

Having a look at some diags I have - USA, but still probably relevant, both the radio, clock and door locking seem to eminate from ECU-B1 fuse. Other things come from it as well, like Ignition, but you probably haven't tried that (or it might be part of the alarm problem)

This is a 25A in the box on the LH wall of engine compartment, by the battery. 3rd down on RHS, 1st plug doesn't seem to be occupied.

No guarantees, but worth a look.

Hi both,

Thanks! I had just come around to remember about the other fuse boxes (spent all my time in the passenger footwell and became blinkered!!).

Remote locking has been a little temperamental of late - either the cold weather or a hundred wifi networks around me probably.

In the cold light of day tomorrow, I'll check out the other fuse boxes, and get back to you - thanks again, I couldn't locate my fuse diagram for the frunk, so you've been a great help!!

Well, just popped out to the car, and it was the ECU-1B that had blown - why, oh, why didn't I check that earlier...

It would have prevented me rewiring the stereo circuit to the fag lighter!! - obviously, I'm going to have to reverse that during the week.

Still no remote locking, but that's something to look at another day. Thanks again!!

Oh, and I now have heated seats!!
