The surround (binnacle) just unclips (move the steering wheel down and pull it). Then the screws in the cluster you undo are fairly obvious. When you remove the cluster remember to unplug it before before pulling it out too far.

Quote from: "stavros58"unlike everyone else who seem to have a black box with a speaker my beep comes out from the speedo, side of the clocks rather than from behind them at the speedometer side.  Is this a final modification by Toyota to stop people disabling it and driving off cliffs etc my MR2 is the final 300 production model so any changes will be final.  it appears that I would have the wrap the whole thing in thick tape to reduce the noise can anyone help disabling,

Stavros,
Did you resolve this?
I'm doing mine this week and it's a 2006 so may well be like yours.

Thanks guys for the input to my "reverse bleeper removal" question but I'm still quite confused. Seems I have to remove the binnacle but one said the bleeper was under the driver's seat. I'm not too happy taking out the binnacle but I'll try it. My 2005 MR2 with 37.000 miles replaced a Mini Cooper S 1275 made in 1967 so it's great not to spend every evening lying under the car. So far, the MR2 has been a total joy. I've owned it since late last year. Just one rear caliper replacement. Thanks again.

Here you go Scot,
It's easier than you might think.
The pics from my original post are gone but some more lower down the thread.
