wheel advice.....think i've been done !

bought some OZ anniversarys for the roadster,,,,,,,,,,,

came y/day

asked for 16's

got 16's 7j

BUT all four are 205/45 i see from the car with OEM wheels that rears are 215 fronts 185

guy knew what the car was and told me these were correct sizes (didnt know oem sizes at the time   s:oops: :oops: s:oops:  )

question is is the new set up OK or should i get bigger rears from them ??

Definitely get bigger rears, else a ditch may sneak up on you and surprise you in a not-very-nice way. I wouldn't even drive an MR2 on same-size tyres all round for even a mile, such was my horribly bad experience with them like that.

Tbh I'd send them an e-mail stating that the MR2 is a mid-engined car and as such they should know that it needs to have staggered tyres, and ask them what they want to do about it. Either way Dave I honestly wouldn't drive it with them on mate, especially not in the varying weather we've got atm.

I too had problems with them - they refurbished wheels for me and stuck them in my passenger seat when I went to collect them, they looked surprised when I wanted them on the car!

these are the company i have just dealt with.
they dont know what tyre sizes are suitable for our cars, i had a right game tring to tell them that 225/35's are the best fit for 17" and then after they took the finance for the wheels they decided to tell me that they could not supply them till november.as if that wasnt enough they still have not cancelled the finance agreement as requested over 1 month ago.
never dealing with them again.

a lot of wheel and tyre dealers supply the same size all round for the mr2 when they do these package wheel and tyre deals and although they may be technically the correct sizes and can legally be driven on the road they do not have that element of safety built in that you get with staggared sizes , and most members would agree that they would be worried about driving a 2 with same size all round because the rear will loose grip at the same time as the front and with the mid engine bias round you go   s:shock: :shock: s:shock:  
with more grip at the rear the front will start to push wide as the narrower front tyres loose grip giving you the warning to ease up  s:) s:)
