Anybody got an MRS badge they don't want? Dealer took mine off, now says he hasn't got it any more. Thought it would look better on the back than the common MR2 ones they do here. I've got MRS mats, what do I want with an MR2 badge? silly.

Does that not answer your question as to where to get one? If the dealer took it off and lost it, make them get another! They can be ordered via Toyota like any other part.

Thanks for your very friendly reply. Moderator, eh?
If the dealer had it then I would have it by now.
If you can help with the part number, please do so. Otherwise don't bother with that sort of answer, it's no help

Pardon?

What I said was that if the dealer lost it, it is their responsibility to replace it! If my dealer removed something from my car and misplaced / lost it / broke it, I would make sure that THEY put it right!

What is it with you people and the attitude?

I could't (still can't)  find any actual sign of any other question on this subject (despite a dig that there was another question within a couple of weeks) and just asked a simple question. My dealer is an importer, I don't know what he did with the badge, he changed it for an MR2 one and says he hasn't got it any more, and as the car has a badge of some sort he doesn't give a toss.
I'll go and buy one from my Toyota dealer flashing my MR2Drivers Club card for a discount.

I ask a simple question and nobody wants to actually help, they want to have a go at me, and don't like it when I respond.
So, NICELY, anybody got the part number?

I agree with sundance...  You didn't specify the nature of your dealership, therefore we assume that you are talking about a main Toyota dealer.

Slacey was offering you some moral support in your quest for a replacement badge from your dealer. Your post suggests that you've been hard done by, and are reluctant to confront your dealer and demand that your misplaced badge be replaced...  s:?: :?: s:?:

Was there any need for the attitude?   s:roll:  s:roll:   I'm sure someone on this forum has the part number for an MR-S rear badge if you ask nicely..  s:wink:  s:wink:

To be honest, I doubt after your responses to members here, that you will get too much help now in sourcing a badge.  People here are VERY helpful, so lets not take that for granted eh!  Slacey offered you perfectly good advice given the limited info you offered.

My comments where made, purely because in the last two weeks there have been two other people request infomation about various badges for the MR2.  With all due respect, if you had bothered to use the "simple to use" search facility you may have saved all this bad feeling you have now caused.

Oh, the response from the other posts was Mr T has the part numbers, then you place an order!  Simple really.  The difference between those posts and yours is that the other members thanked people for their assistance, you just came back with some bad attitude!

If anyone here has the part number, please post it here for this member, then moderators can lock the thread.

Most, if not all part numbers are available on my website. The PDF files is located at http://www.mr2-roadster.de/Files/00-02partslist.pdf.

If the part number for your part is there, I dont know. You can look for yourself.

I think a big thankyou is earned to Victor for that!.

Unfortunately (just to save you bothering to "search" through it for the Part Number) it appears to only have the "common" MR2 one.

In the beginning when I found this club it seemed it might be helpful as everybody seems to of a like mind. Some simpletons around, to be sure (how do I clean flies off, how do I change a bulb, but they exist everywhere in life). So, modifications being dear to my heart I thought I would ask for help from the outset when we got our cars (we have two).
Firstly I wanted some luggage doors for one of them. Two people came back and offered them. Then changed their minds when I tried to follow it up. I couldn't be bothered with this sort of stuff, and went to a breaker and got them, they were helpful in the extreme and pretty cheap. Cheaper than the offers that were withdrawn.
Somebody told me the part numbers for the hardtop fitting kit. Thanks. I got the first kit from my local Toyota dealer, and the second lot are coming right now from Turbo Spares as result of seeing the name on this site.
Another person sold me some "plugs" for the sunvisors. Thanks.
I offered to make the club stickers so cheaply as to be giving them away. Really. But initially, no reply. Then told me he was "too busy to get back to me, although the present supplier was playing up". Oh well, I offered, can't do more than that.
As for this debacle - this "go to your dealer and demand the badge" (and then for another to say we thought it was a Toyota dealer...) errrm, Toyota dealers in UK do not sell MRSs. So how come you thought it was a Toyota dealer? And the business about other threads / questions on the same subject – I tried a search first and got nothing so as I was trying to buy one of another member here I asked if anybody had one. All that happened was I was just told to go to a dealer who had the part number.
Listen, I live in the North East, the home of...the geordies, right? In the geordie dictionary, geordie means "what you see is what you get". People are pleasant, but, no airs, no graces. And if you give a geordie a shite answer to a simple question, expect a similar one back. It's not an attitude problem. It's just normal behaviour. Everybody does it in my world.
I've got the part number now (a different one to the one shown on here), from a very helpful partsman in a TOYOTA dealership in Scotland, and the badge will be here next week, for a very good price (which you can find out yourself if you want to do the same as I did). I am told they have never stocked them here in UK (Toyota central parts), and so it is coming from Japan. And I am being given a discount for being an MR2 Drivers Club member, this discount normally being reserved for "parts held in stock", not specially ordered like this, but there you are. Helpful.
It is the season of goodwill, you know.

Well I think you will find if you actually take a few deep breaths, that everyone here has actually given you good advice, you have just choosen to get a little shirty about things.

Well done for sourcing the part number yourself (oh from a dealer - just like we all originally said!).  Hope your MRS badge looks good, certainly better than my "common MR2" one.

Anyway, as with everything on the web, you need to be careful sometimes so as not to take text the wrong way.  People where trying to help, including myself.  But you immidiate attitute towards our comments simply alienated yourself and the thread.

This is the first fall out I have seen in the over a year I have been around.  Most people here are very helpful and will bend over backwards to help people.  So not sure what the problem was here.

Maybe as it is the season of good will you could post the part number here, and there are probably others who would like an MRS one too. Maybe get some discount with a GB?.

care to share the number then? So that a future search reveals it for anyone looking?

The part number they gave me is at work and I am going to the States this afternoon.
Will put the number up when we get back.
Cheers.
And if anybody took offence, I didn't mean to give it.

If the dealer has admitted that they took your badge off and haven't got it anymore then quite simply this is theft. You have paid for your 2 and it should turn up in the standard and condition in which you ordered it (including badges).

The only way round it for them is if they have a bit in the contract which states all MR-S badges will be changed for MR2 badges. If not then they have removed part of your vehicle without your consent and either lost or sold that part. Theft.

If I were you I would get in contact with the dealer and say that you want to be re-imbursed for the cost of the MR-S badges that they removed or you will take them to the small claims court or contact the local media to highlight what they did.

I've just had a recent problem with Mr T. They replaced one of my tyres and it came back without the MR2 valve cap. Just a black plastic one. I spoke to one of them and said that someone had removed my MR2 valve cap, without my consent, and replaced it with a plastic valve cap, without my consent. I told them that it had been stolen. It's now going to be replaced.

Quote from: "smr2ley"As for this debacle - this "go to your dealer and demand the badge" (and then for another to say we thought it was a Toyota dealer...) errrm, Toyota dealers in UK do not sell MRSs. So how come you thought it was a Toyota dealer?

Glad you've got your problem sorted out - but just for the record.. it's all easy to read through something too quickly and retort with another sarcastic remark unnecessarily...

I didn't actually suggest that you'd "bought" your MR-S from a main toyota dealer...  s:roll:  s:roll:   As you didn't specify what you'd been doing at the dealer, or how they'd come to mislay your original MR-S badge, the most likely assumption was that you'd been to a main dealer for some reason (they are much more common than specialist importers), and they'd lost your property.

You could have been at the bodyshop having your rear bumper resprayed for example...

Anyway, good news you have a new one on order!!

Cheers!

Got one!
I was told last Thursday lunchtime, when I ordered this at a Toyota dealer in Glasgow, that according to Toyota GB central parts, this part had not been stocked by them previously, and it would have to be ordered specially from Japan. It arrived Monday morning at the dealer! Quick or what?
Part Number of the MR-S badge is
T75471-17130
Retail price is £14.40 + vat = £16.92.
I paid  £15.23 all up with an allowed 10% discount.
It's smaller then the MR2 badge, the "MR" bit being in a smaller size font. And different. The Jap imports I have seen (which still had them fitted) have this mounted lower right and do not have the MR2 badge centrally, nor do they carry the Roadster badge (which looks a bit rubbishy IMHO).

So after all the misunderstandings of my original post in asking if a member had one they didn't want, I've got one, and I can't really imagine having got one any quicker. Cheers everyone.
