Rear wheel size

My partner just bought a X reg MR2 it came with 17" Alloys Tyres 205/40/17 all round, noticed that original 15" Alloys came with wider rears, she`s going to replace rears when they wear down but still lots of tread, will it be ok the same size all round or is it dodgy on handling.

short answer no it won't, don't wait, change the rears NOW before she ends up in a ditch
