Can anyone suggest a descent set of component speakers which will fit the doors but are better quality.

Everything is better than OEM, and necessary if you upgrade the radio / CD.

I have Infinity Kappa. Suggest you try Search or have a look in the car specs in the garage for other suggestions.

You will have to cannabalise the OEM speakers or make up speaker supports to fit them though.

Just bought a set of Audiobahn ABC5002V components. Look really great and great spec. Haven't gotten around to fittingthem yet cos I have to dynamat the doors first but I'll post up my verdict.
TRD lip kit, Che Headers, TRD rear Brace, NGK Plugs, TRD oil filter, Facelift side Vents, Key hole covers.

Infinity kit is superb, Rainbows in Stu's car sound brill, Alpine X series are excellent and the high end Focals really rock.
Lots to choose from, but you'll only get the best out of any of this stuff if its installed well. Sound deadening in the doors and decent cabling.
I'd recommend custom mdf spacers as well instead of butchering the stock items in lieu of a spacer.
No Roadster any more, Golf 7.5 GTi Performance
