this might sound really sad but i was thinking about lighting up the rear vents on my 2 with yellow neon

my mate has done it on his scooby but I'm not sure what it will look like

is it scally or cool

p.s. just been watching fast and the furious which might explain the idea

This has already been discussed...I think TEM tried this but said it didn't really work as light shone out from under the engine cover.

Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

I was thinking that tonight, i've just got back from a real poor cruise full of fiestas with carbon lookie likie spoilers!

I drove down with my mate who has just fitted Blue neons to his saxo and they look great.  I'm planning of fitting some red neons to my car underneath and quite fancy lighting up the engine bay but i think the neons would have to be located towards the throttle body end of the engine bay where it is cooler!

possible but when mounting in the engine bay i mount them in a clear plastic tube so that the heat dosnt directly go onto the neon!

Also make sure you insulate the wireing as as Kris said it dose get hot !

When mounting Under car neons make sure when you look at the car you can see the tube it'self as it looks crap and tacky make sure you mount them so that the glow of the neon shows on the road looks more pro   s:wink:  s:wink:

Just a suggestion here, (I'd rather drive a Volvo than fit neons to my own car  s:wink:  s:wink:  ) but you could mount a single neon up in the centre tunnel of the car, so it couldn't be seen directly from the roadside? I'd think it was pretty hard to hide it otherwise, unless you have skirts on the car...

If anyone remembers JAE 2002.  I had something similar fitted.  A brake light through the rear mesh mounted on the exhaust heat shield.

It didn't melt, it just fell apart through the vibrations.

this is a good example of well fitted undercar neons

but there are loads of palces to hinde the neons under the car little nocks and cranys as we dont have side skirts
