Locking wheel nut help

Hi all,

Looking for a helpful chap or chapette in the north east who can do me a favour.

Ive got one tyre barely legal and need to change them, but ive only just noticed that my locking wheel nut set doesnt have the socket to take them off, just the spare nuts.

Does anyone local to Durham mind letting me use theres on site to get the lockers off and put the originals back?

Its unlikely you will find anyone with the same combination on the locking nuts, I am affraid to say its gonna be a new set all round. I gather there are ways of getting these things off but I believe it butchers them making them useless for further use.

Butchering them is fine, i'll have to buy some anyway. Just need the old ones off without knacking the threads

I've heard that Toyota dealerships have a "universal" socket (or set of sockets) that allows them to revome the nut even when the customer's socket is lost or unavailable.  This may be only a myth, but it couldn't hurt to give it a try.

get a cheap multi spline socket just a little to small to go over the nut. make sure the socket half inch. then get a big hammer dont hit the wheel but hit the socket onto the locker then with a half inch braker bar you should be able to just undo the locker. if the socket spins try a smaller socket. used this trick for years never failed.
