Pre or post facelift?

Hey this may seem like a very stupid question but im very new to the mr2 club and have a 2003 (52) mr2 and I see a lot of posts about pre and post facelift models what year were the "new" face lift models brought in? I'm sorry if this seems really dull but I'm looking at getting HIDs for my 2 but have heard that the pre have different bulb size to post I'm a lil bit confused could anyone shed some light on this?

The facelift came in in 2003, not sure if that was from jan or the 03' reg in march? But anyhow main differences, 6 speed gearbox, change to rear lights, front lights with chrome surround and separate dip/main beam with projector style lens, fog lights built into the bumper and a smiley face  s:lol: :lol: s:lol:

If your has this then it's a facelift. Just to note though I heard there is a law coming in if it hasn't already that if your car did not come from the factory with HID's then adding them will fail the MOT?

HIDS are taboo (on this site - the majority consensus!!) plus they are illegal on the 2 and an MOT fail!! If not already factory fitted!! Try getting Osram Nightbreakers from the well known Auction site instead!!  s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

Mines got a 6 speed but to be honest havent notices the others lol.. Iv heard about the osram are they any good? And iv got the fog light Lol sorry if I'm sounding dull but just trying to get my head around it lol

Yeah they much better... Im still unsure what size the bulbs are tho? H4 or H7 lol with the chrome on the lights do u mean a surround around the case or the inside of the case chromed lol

have a look at your lights ,how many bulbs can you see (not including the small sidelight bulb )
