Hi @StuC

Yes, I remember the good times, we all have great memories of those. It is always sad when our cars come to their end but however hard it is, we must all remember the great people that we have met through our cars. If it wasn't for our cars, we wouldn't have had our meets along the years. Keep your chin up Stu. With love & best wishes Jane (Chilli Girl) x

Quote from: Joesson on October 22, 2025, 09:32So, @StuC , to address the elephant in the room, what has happened with Banana?

She has been bought my East Coast and Midlands MR2, with the intent to get her back on the road for someone else to enjoy her. I kinda need to leave that thought there though. I need to have that as a picture going forward and believe that it is true. I cant deal with any other possibilities.

At this point I'd like to call out @Carolyn for helping me out here. Without her none of this would have been possible. Thank you so much, you remain an amazing credit to this lovely club.

It touches me that you still think of the positive times we created around this area. :-D
Thanks for being part of her journey with me. That goes out to everyone in the club who attended one of my meets or any of the many ding days. Happy times.

For reference Stu, we were proudly wearing the UCC t-shirts that you made for us all those year ago! I'd post it on here, but that feels a little bit beyond me today!

For the last 5 years we have 2 yellow 2's on the drive. His and hers. Sadly Mrs Stu is less and less able to drive just generally. It does mean that we still have plenty of yellow 2 driving to do! It was sad returning from the school run this morning and there only being 1 yellow car on the drive!

Just for prosperity I made this a couple of months back...

This was one of her best 2 features IMO.
The other being that she is Yellow!  ;D  ;D

Dear Stu.

Oddly the cider and sausage reference was quite early in my 2 journey.

I recall it well. I won the lowest car of the day award. Or lowest something  ;) for those that know.

Nice to hear from you and please do think of us and keep in touch. But I cannot bring myself to like your post.

And whilst we reflect on things of times gone by. Your last post made reference to a  facepalm. This one I think is the gold standard.

Love that you remember what award you won! That's great 😆

Aaah my favourite facepalm image. Well played sir.

I get where you are coming from with "liking" a sad post. I understand, it's an odd thing.

You posted a comment instead,  thats much better IMO. 😁😁

I remember meeting you at Mr Nugents place one Saturday morning,  for his open workshop thing. Oh and the drive around Rutland water.  Lots of fun.

So sad to be reading this Stu. Fondly remember the  Marble Arch meet and many Ding Days, including you feeding Imogen when she was just a baby.

We really need another Ding Day of all the oldies ( not in age! 😉)

Would be great to see you.

Do I want to know how old she is now or will it just make me feel older? ;-)

Stu,
So sorry to see your post after this long time.  I still look in occasionally to the group to see what's happening.....not many of us old originals left.  I joined ROC in 2005 after buying my car new in June 2004 & it has been a great group to belong to.

Like others, I enjoyed the get togethers, Ding Days, Sywell, Pickering etc.  One important event was your ROC Midlands Rendezvous where I won the People's Choice award as judged by Charlie...see photo.  I treasure that award ✨️.

Remember your kick boards...mine still in place after all these years.  I'm sorry that banana has had to leave you..it was a pre facelift from memory, so an old girl.  Personally I think Puma2's (Paul) yellow looked amazing with the body kit etc.

I'm happy to report that mine (never been named!) passed its MOT yesterday, no advisories & has today been sorn'd for the winter...only did 300 miles this summer.  It would have been more if our summer get together had happened..maybe we'll have a meet up in 2026.

Good to see posts from my old friends ....great memories.

Great to hear from you chap.  Impressive that your is still going strong. Your car was always glossy black shiny loveliness. A credit to the club for sure.

Onto makey things...
Aaah yes, the kickboards. Banana left with hers still in place.

Also the underdash sub boxes.

Also also, I seem to remember meeting you Mark for the prototype fitting of the Bling Pins. 😆 🤣

The meets were fun for sure. LOTS and LOTS of planning and late nights, but all worth it for my fellow ROC'RS to enjoy. Happy days.  😁😁
