Standard stereo, audio in / audio out

The standard stereo has a "bus audio in", does this mean i can connect an ipod or phono in?

There is also 2 phono outs, would this enable me to connect 2 amps?

Not usre about the i pod, but you can use the phono plugs to connect amps.

connecting an ipod is not that straight forward..you will need one of these

connect to the bus lead port on the back of the head unit and it fools the head unit into thinking a changer box is fitted. just connect a phono > jack lead to the ipod. press the cd button twice and hey presto...your ipod should work.

Just to say, I bought one of those doodads and it didn't work for me - the audio would play for about 30 secs - 2 mins and then the head unit would reset itself. It also stopped my actual CD player working. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Bought a Sony XA-300; official aux input adaptor box, gives you two aux ins, plus a USB in (kinda useless because it only works with a Windows laptop attached), AND you can still run a CD changer through it, should you so desire. Oh yeah, and it has a headphone jack with separate volume control... Dunno why, for the passenger maybe!?

Anyways, it only cost me £35 (so £5 more than the Autoleads doodad), and fits perfectly right at the bottom of the centre console, below the ashtray/cup holders  s:) s:)

Just felt like adding, if you have a cd changer connected to this stereo, you can leave the bus plugged in, get a phono to headphone jack for just over a £;) plug into the audio in:) the stereo still shows whatever the changer is doing, but whatever you have the headpnone jack plugged into comes out of the speakers;)
Slightly cheaper, easier way to play your mp3 player in your 2:) you can even access the audio in connectors without any difficulty or removal of anything, just move the black metal plate a little and there they are;)
