Did I miss something?

Yesterday a silver 2 stopped to fill up at the Morrisons petrol station in Cambourne (hello if you found the forum). Of course I had to have a chat.

I noticed that he had a 2000 (W reg) with silver (dimpled) intakes and also front grille and surround. Now I thought that the first revision to have colour-coded intakes was the 03, which are a different style alltogether. If you wanted colour-coded intakes on a pre-03 than it was a DIY job. However he said that the dealer had told him that some 2's came with the colour-coded intakes and front grille.

So did I actually miss something? Were there a select few 2's that Toyota released with colour-coded parts?   s:? :? s:?

nope, teh dealer lied to him to shift a car that a previous owner had modded.

Looks like the dealer probably got a few hundred £'s extra by typical dealership b/s.
