Does anyone make a storm cover such as is sold for MG TF's that can be put over the soft top when the car is parked to give it some protection from the elements, birds, cats etc.

Not that I've seen, but a good quality full cover isn't that expensive, and wouldn't take much longer to put on and remove.
Search for 'cover' as I gave a couple of URL's a week or two back, and can't remember them!  s:oops:  s:oops:

I would go for one of them, but TBH its probably quicker to put the roof up, just got caught out..  doing some gardening on a nice afternoon, sudden out of the blue cloud burst, come inside, put kettle on and then think....car!! one soggy towel from drying the seats off and a soggy bum from sitting in it putting the roof up   s:evil:  s:evil:

I did that whilst watching England a week or two ago.  Got down to find my seats soaked and my cup holder filled with water.

Tried to drive them out with the heater on full blast, but they gained a 'wet dog' sort of smell.  Some Autoglym interior shampoo sorted it out though.

Thanks for the replies, but I think perhaps I wasn't being too clear. I put the hood up when I park the car, but like a lot of cars it lives outside in the drive, sometimes without being driven for days. What I was looking for was a storm cover (fully waterproof that you can wash easily) that covers the hood when it was up. The one I have seen pictures off for the MG seems to fit underneath the bonnet at the back, hooks round the wing mirrors and underneath the wipers. It only covers the soft top/windscreen/side window area. I assume it is made of some rubberized shiney material. It seems like a goodkidea to stop cats, birds muck etc from damaging the hood.

I am not a fan of full covers for a number of reasons even though I have one on another car.

What about this?

Probably not what you want, I know what you mean, I have seen an elise in my road with one on over his roof only.  Cant think where to get one from. Did a search and could only find full body covers   s:cry:  s:cry:

Sundance,

I haven't met Liz, but unless she is a Granny in her 80s I doubt it.

Just for information I went out and bought a Sunmate cover for a MGF. It fits the MR2 almost exactly, is easy to put on and off and will keep cats, birds etc. of the hood as well as protecting it from the sun and rain. It will also save scrapeing the windscreen in the winter.

I purchased it from Brown and Gammons for 52.90 GBP, but it is made by Mike Satur ( w www.mgcars.org.uk/satur w ).
