Glad you've found a way to solve this conundrum.
Good thinking that man gold star.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Starting to get the car ready for Cadwell Park on Monday.

Thanks to Tim I've got all the fixings to mount the hard top properly (great service from the ebay seller), so need to do that.

Think I need to change rear pads, but at least take wheel off and have a good inspection

I've hired a car transporter for the weekend to avoid doing the 4 hr journey each way in the mR2. Not that I don't think it's possible, but in a way a bit of an experiment as I am hoping to change my car over the winter to something I can tow with, and buy a trailer.

Finally, as my car will be stored in the garage for the winter at the end of October, my cover kings tailored cover arrived this morning . Will take a picture of it on the car as I'm sure there will be others interested who use thier MR2 rarely over winter

Videos of Cadwell will be next week  s:) :) s:)

Have a great day on Monday
I have tried to book in for the same day but I am first reserve so I may or may not be there and as we run a B&B that's only
25 mins  away from Cadwell I can get across quickly

I'm glad the fixings did the job for you.

Hope you enjoy Cadwell I went there early in the year and it is a fantastic circuit! I absolutely loved it! It's a shame it's such a long way for most people!

Cadwell Park 13-10-2014

My first trip to Cadwell Park. Always fancied going and got talked into it by a few different people at various track days saying the MR2 would be great round there.

Being a 4hr drive each way, I decided to hire a car transporter to take the car up there and back, as I have been looking for a car suitable for towing (530d most likely). The van was pretty good except for the fuel consumption, think I did about £100 in total!

After picking up the van and loading the Mr2, we Travelled up on Sunday afternoon. Waking up early on Monday morning to torrential rain and wind, the theme for the day was set !

Oh yeah, as I left home I misjudged the length of the van and ripped my front fence down ! Haha, whoops! Wood was rotten anyway, so it needed ripping out and replacing but maybe not my best move this year.

Arrived at Cadwell, weather got worse. They were late getting us going and after 5 mins of track time an MX5 aquaplaned down the strait and straight into the barriers, completely destroying the front of his car.

3 or 4 other stoppages during the morning meaning I got about 20mins of track time all morning, they stopped early for lunch at 12:00 and I was getting really frustrated.

After finally starting again around 1:30 I finally managed to start learning the circuit and began to enjoy it. Still very wet but I got used to it quickly.

Ended up doing about 1hr / 1:30hr of track time in the afternoon and left fairly early as it was a long drive home.

Feel like it was a mega expensive day (circa £500 all inclusive of travel, hotel, track day, fuel etc) for very little track time, and feel like I need to go back to enjoy the circuit a bit more. Maybe next year.

My morning view mostly waiting ;

Highlight of the day, seeing an Alfa 4c close up. Absolutely stunning car, better in the flesh 10 fold

My last few laps, first video (there won't be much, considering the amount of track time I had)

The weather is always frustrating, I did a day there on the bike a few years ago in similar conditions, riders were coming off on each session luckily no-one really injured. They pulled the lunch break forward & it did start to clear up, so I went out again, 2 laps in & starting to feel comfortable I wound the throttle full on coming out of Charlie's onto Park Straight only for the throttle cable to snap, end of my day.
