just seen my new mr2

i popped down to mr t to give him my insurance details etc and saw my brand new 54 reg blue mr2 outside on the forecourt...... WOW s:D

I had a good look around and inside (through the windows) the car. MMMMMM

Then i took my dad down to have a look at it and found that someone had thrown an egg at some of the cars. Sods law stated that mine was the only car that was hit.

ill just make sure i have a real good look at the paintwork when i pick it up on the 1st of sept

Will post some photos of it when i get it. So if anyone can tell me how to put pics on here then that would be great.

yeah egg, it appears that it was mainly on the windscreen.

However there may be another problem with the interior....
where the base part of the seat meets the back part of the seat the leather is puckered and not totally flat. This also happens on other parts of the seat like near the headrest.

Is this normal or am i been just too picky.

My seats aren't like that... see if you can find another one to look at, as my leather was fitted in Europe.

ive found a similar picture to what my seats look like (appart from the saggy bit under the bum). Should i get these lines towards the bends of the leather.

Those are the pics I've been searching for! (in response to your email) - the first pic had about 6 months use, hence the lines and sag, but if you look closely at the secon pic, it's as tight as... well, a very tight thing, as I never carried a passenger then.

I took delivery of my new 2 last Wednesday and I have red leather seats. They're not puckered at all. I can understand that with use the leather might stretch, like Slacey's drivers seat after 6 months but it shouldn't be like that on a new car.
Slacey's seats aren't exactly like mine anyway. There is a 'hole' at the top of the backrest (an '03-'04 thing?) so expect some diference between how yours looks compared to those piccies.
I'm sure once you see it a little closer it'll be fine. s8)

thanks, yeah i think my seats have the hole in too.

i had to phone up the garage yesterday because they had the car out on the forecourt and some "person" threw an egg at it. I was worried about it staining the paintwork so i phoned up and asked for them to put it away in the compound. Went past today and it was still out front and still had egg all over. I soon went in to tell them to move it and clean it

Regarding the egg throwing, I was driving home from work on the 406 Wednesday evening and some f**cker threw an egg from a bridge which caught the nearside rear wing. The paint work is fine but the splatter inside took some cleaning.

hey all. i also took delivery of my mr2 on wednesday. it was blye, with hard top air con and black leather.

The egg did came off ok, the puckering of the seats is there but im leaving it and will just try and get them sorted under warenty later on. The only damage is a very very slight scratch to the rear. It is only in the lacquer (probably spelt wrong), so im getting it sorted today.

Love to drive it, ive been driving more per day than i ever have.

Family loves it too, getting lots of stares and good comments.

Also trying resist the urge to floor it, instead im taking it nice and gentle for the time being

Was hoping to get pics on but i dont have a website. If anyone would be kind to put them on that would be great and i will post a cd with them on. TA
