Right, i've committed.  The cars staying and only getting better (in my eyes anyway).  My plans to go a little wider have fallen nicely into place, just time to decide on a colour scheme for this summer.  Answers on a post card..

Looks nice in the dark matt.  I've been wanting to plastic a car for a while.

By the way, what spoiler is that? It's not the Toyota ducktail- Luxury parts one perhaps? Is it carbon? Looks awesome! I love it and want it! Lol.

It looks to be mounted to the bumper. Would love some better pics and info.

The plastidipping is so easy. If you ever want to borrow my gun you're more than welcome. I want to go slightly darker with the paint, a bit like the Liberty Walk 430.

The spoiler was skinned in carbon fibre, it does attach to the rear bumper yea. I believe it's the LP one. I'll get you some pictures in the morning when it's light!

That would be great! Thanks.  I can't find many pics of the LP spoiler on the net and that's the one I want. Mounted to the bumper. Nice work.

Quote from: "Rob988"You're right, I think I am going to keep it.  I went out in Taz's k20 Roadster tonight and it is an absolute animal.  Completely rekindled my love for the car!  What I really want to do is start piecing together a turbo kit but the parts are so few and far between it seems impossible unless buying as a whole!

Who's Taz? And is that a K20 (honda) NA conversion?

as I am mega interested at getting a mr2 and doing a honda engine conversion, but there's not much info about....

Yes taz on here t4di or something. Also there is a thread with another k-swap on this forum but his name eludes me right now.

Monkey wrench racing sell a load of parts to do it.

Mega engine and conversion but you'll pay for the privilege !!

Rob, I know you've said above that you want to keep the car, however & just out of interest, if you were to sell what would you want for it?

Way more than it's worth, which is what I concluded. With all the parts id be looking for about £4.5k. It's not worth £4.5k to anyone other than me. I'd have to break it if I ever decided to change it.

My K20 Project is taking a little longer than expected i keep doing the old "while its like this i might as well...." gearbox is in bits at the moment. SpyderChat forum has a long but good K20 swap page. it breaks down whats avalible to complete the task. The main task is getting over is the wiring but you can run the ECU's in tandum otherwise the swap parts are off the shelf.
interms of expansion you could further turbo/supercharge or upgrade to a K24.

Just got this through today from Domtheplumb (great guy!) and dropped it down to my uncles to have it powdercoated in crackle black.  Apparently its good for 2000 degrees so should hold up fine.  I've started looking at options for a turbo, I only want a very basic kit.  As i've said, my Impreza is knocking on 400 bhp so I get the straightline speed from that.  I just want something slightly more powerful and to be honest I really want to just fit a turbo to an engine myself.  I'm tempted to get an old knackered 1zz to put on an engine stand in the garage to put it together on, just for my own learning experience.

Other next steps are to swap the hinges and latch on the rear carbon bonnet for pins and aerocatches.  Struggling to find a spot to use for the rear pins.  The goal here is to be able to completely take off the lid and set it aside for work on the engine and at car shows.  Both front and rear bumpers are on quick releases and its really nice to be able to just strip it down whenever I need to inspect something.

Still want to get it wider... However talking to Shane (the chap who has the Rocketbunny style kit on his car in Singapore), he is struggling to produce them without interest so we'll see where that goes.

All this sun is just making me want to get stuck back in to it!

Nice one!. Are you keeping the unichip? Or going for something with a little more playability

Picked this back up today, looking ready to now go on the engine once the rest of the kit is pieced together.

Going to stick with the Unichip, I don't need anything overly complicated as I don't plan on running much more power at all.  If a Power FC comes up for the right price I may jump on it but unlikely.

Still can't decide on a colour change for this summer yet.  Was tempted by a matte metallic copper but its more of a 350z colour (not that thats a bad thing).

A lot of the driftworks guys I know run Kinugawa turbos on their cars, which obviously get driven incredibly hard.  They're pushing me to try one for the Mr2 but i'm not sure which variant of the TD04 to use.  As far as I can see their is the standard, H, HL and L.  Currently trying to find out which may be best (i.e which Whifbitz use).  Tbf if it makes 190bhp i'll be happy.

Here's some pics of the whifbitz td04 if any of it helps

That is glorious. The kit I'm trying to put together is based pretty much entirely on yours so those images are super helpful. I don't suppose you know the diameter of the piping used from turbo to throttle body? I'm trying to figure out if I can reuse my hks induction kit piping at all as that'll give me a maf housing and a little plumbing.

Leethesparky

#93
Mine is 2.5".

Don't forget you need a little filter for the engine breather. You need to cut it off your throttle body, block the pipe going in and stick a small filter on the breather pipe.
Mines got a little k&n on it.
My maf is on the underneath of the pipe between the dump valve and inlet manifold.
If you need any closeup pics of anywhere, let me know.
As it is, it's ok on all the standard bits, injectors,  clutch etc..
but I'm ready for a bit more, so need intercooler,  injectors,  clutch and maybe fuel regulator.
Definitely intercooler next as temps are a little high without. It maybe worth you adding that to your kit as even at 200bhp I think it would help with pre ignition.
I've got around it for now with tesco 99 fuel but it's still on the limit.

Yea I figured I'd put a charge cooler in as its a chunk of piping anyway. I may hold you to a picture or two.

Today was spent fitting a new seat. I assumed it would be as simple as swapping it in as the su frames, runners and side mounts were left in place after taking my Brides out. Never have I been so wrong... The Corbeau, although a wider seat overall, sits narrower in the side mounts. Absolute nightmare.
