Going to cardiff tonight, was alongside a Nissan 200 turbo, real bad weather, it seems like he aquaplaned, lost control and... you guessed it, BANG into my 2  s:( :( s:(

Turns out I know the guy from another car club, hes accepted full responsibilty, but right now, the 2 is outside, bashed up with no window  (just black bags). I was luck that I managed to keep control of the car, and get it to the hard shoulder

Not a happy chappy

The 2 can be easily fixed; you can't be. If you walk away unhurt that's the most important thing, and is what I think about to try an alleviate some of the pissed off feeling when your motor is buckled. Still bad luck mate.

as Heath says, walking away from a shunt at motowary speeds is the most important bit.  Good luck getting that damage sorted, with the least hassle.

Ouch indeed - sorry to hear about that. As the others say, any accident you can walk away from is a good one.

At least the damage seems (from that pic) localised to the door - small mercies and all that.

Must have been the weekend for it, one of the IMOC chaps had his Supra run into as well.

Seems to be open season on the '2 getting hit at the moment, first Kelly and now you...hope that it is all fixed up soon, and you were very lucky on the motorway to get away with that.....everyone be careful out there with the weather coming in...dealing with 3 fatal roadcrashes this weekend brings your mortality home to you.

I got a very small ding in my driver's door this weekend. Why can't people open their car doors responsibly? Most expensive hair cut I'll ever have.

Still not a patch on your bad luck. Glad you're ok.

Tough luck Scottee.

But at least your in one piece and your claiming off somebody else's insurance.

The standard of driving on motorways is crap. We went up the M6 on saturday, traffic very heavy and constantly stopping. But the number of cars that switch lanes without signalling just to gain a few yards as the lanes are slowing is frightening.

Thanks guys, im still a little shaken up, but not as my passenger... think i will be having to clean the stains from his seat hehe

Looking at it this morning, and it seems to be the door, only thank god. its booked in to a garage tommorow, and i get a car from them (ew, im guessing a micra)

My back is pretty bad, not sure if its whiplash or from the 40min drive home, with no window and gale-force wind and rain blowing in on me hehe

It could have been much, much worse.. small mercy admittedly  s:) :) s:)

Just think, it could have ended up looking like this (not a '2, but anyway):

(American car, so that was the drivers side.. driver & passenger were completely unharmed - somehow!)

At least a simple door replacement should be fairly easy for a bodyshop - little chance of them getting it wrong (hopefully)  s:) :) s:)

Oh come on... pop that on a jig, a couple of bangs with a hammer, a lick of paint and that will be fine.  s:D :D s:D

How the HELL were they unharmed? There is COMPLETE intrusion into BOTH sides of the car!!!

If that is true (and I am not syaing it isn't), the that is one seriously, seriously lucky crash. Sheesh................  s:shock:  s:shock:    s:shock:  s:shock:    s:shock:  s:shock:    s:shock:  s:shock:

I know - it's amazing, really.. I think (looking at the internal pics) that the driver was saved by the ZX having the very wide centre tunnel that has pretty much collapsed - the drivers seat is intact, just an awful lot closer to the passenger than it ought to be..

Bet he won't be trying to show off to his female friend (passenger) again!

Anyway.. drifting OT there, sorry  s:) :) s:)

Sorry to hear, but as everybody else says, you are OK which is the main point.

<RANT>

Can I have one about motorway driving as well? To Birmingham and back M40/M5/M6 on Saturday, lane discipline was cr*p, especially the middle lane hoggers. I won't say who seems to be the main offenders because I will probably be done for racial and sexual discrimination. Don't they realise the chaos they cause!!!!

Cars and lorries (yes lorries three times) swinging out from lane 1 to lane 3 to get around the mobile lane blockage. They ought to be banned for life!

And what do you do when lane 3 is full travelling at 60mph, with 1 and 2 empty? Undertake? But guess who will get the ticket  s:cry:  s:cry:

Any way, at least my beta blockers keep the old blood pressure down, so I am very calm about it..just  s:evil:  s:evil:
