Got into the '2 this morning and for the first time (apart from the turbo) started to miss something from the T-5!

Yeah - Heated Seats!

I am now officially not looking forward to winter!

I've never had them, so it never bothers me much! The leather can get awfully chilly though...

I had a chilly leather moment today - right on the small of my back, certainly made me jump!!

I've only ever seen them fitted to trucks, 4WD's & estate cars but this could be a bit of "over the top" equipment to make winter nicer.

I've started investigating the Kenlowe version as I can't stand the thought of winter without heated seats, either

Martin why don't you put your cat on the front seat and warm it up while your getting ready in the morning??   s:D :D s:D

Something much cooler if you want your car warm in the morning would be a remote starter, that way you could warm up the car, leather included from the comfort of your house

Could do but having seen the mess he makes of my carpets I wouldn't hold much chance for the leather.

Sorry to say it folks - thats just one of the reasons why fabric seats are sooooo much better.   s:) :) s:)

Pfft, you bunch of big girls!  s:lol:  s:lol:   s;) ;) s;)  (Liz, I'll let you off for obvious reasons..  s:lol:  s:lol: )

You must all just need more 'padding' down there.. erm.. uhm..  s:oops:  s:oops:

Have to say, the heated seats in the 300 are a pain - but mainly because the drivers one gets stuck on, troublesome in summer  s:lol:  s:lol:

Can't say I've noticed a problem in the '2 yet..

Outside temperature in our area was down to 1 degree this morning; nice cold leather to wake me up  s:lol:  s:lol:

Ice   s:shock:  s:shock:  on the hood this morning (still folded OK though), and no problems with the leather being cold - I guess I must have more 'padding' than most of you   s:oops:  s:oops:  Did resort to wearing gloves until the heater kicked in.

I'm grateful of a garage... that said, I never recall thinking the leather was too cold last winter.

Oh riiight that's what a garage is supposed to be used for.Doh!

Black cloth, nice and war...well not icy cold that's for sure.

Had leather in my Mk1. Was never really a problem and that was outside all the while.....

As people who have met me will testify, I am not exactly "padded", like some of our esteemed members attest to.........  s:wink:  s:wink:    s:lol:  s:lol:

Hmmmmm...........wonder why it never bothered me? Mind you, cloth does make things nice and inviting...........  s8) 8) s8)

I find warm clothes come in handy during the winter!   s:wink:  s:wink:

Sorry, couldn't resist!

My mate got an MX5 with heated seats around the time I got the '2 with A/C.  I know which I'd rather have given the choice (the A/C as well as the '2!).  But then I've never had heated seats, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing.

Hmm...

I'm not a great fan of heated seats, my mate had some in his old Volvo 480 (  s8) 8) s8)  ) and I found that they can give you and unpleasant "have I soiled myself?" sensation   s:oops:  s:oops:    s:lol:  s:lol:

I think you can have heated seats in the MR2 as an option in some colder markets, in fact I think Tem might have them  s:?: :?: s:?:

Same here but I used to have both   s:cry:  s:cry:

Much prefer leather to cloth (snob mode).

Heated seats rock - best with passengers who don't know you have them. Turn them on and laugh as they wonder why their a$$ is getting warm   s:lol:  s:lol:

The link i posted should be for a small timer heater unit. All you do is set the time you want it to switch on & it heats your engine water system & then switches on all the internal heaters. I was looking at one for my Pajero 4WD before I sold it.
