Actually dave, I may be able to squeeze them under.. how much do you want for them?. Can PM if you prefer.
I will have a proper measure up tomorrow.

Me and my mate milwaukee have sorted the ride height.
It's dropped about another 30mm looks 100% better.
will do until I get coilovers

Apart from being a little pink in the sun. It looks quite menacing from a distance

How did you lower it more, chop the spring?

Took a coil off each spring. They are not tapered or bent. They are just standard parallel springs, so doesn't hurt anything. Just gives a firmer ride. But remember my springs are tein so the tensile strength is higher than standard springs

I'm sure lots of people on here would disagree, but after widening the track and dropping it a little the car sticks to the road like glue. Which is a lot to say as the car already handles very well.

To be honest mark, I have a choice to make.. Bigger wheels or go lower with coilovers.

For the sake of a £100 set of springs I wanted to lower the car and see if it would still make speed bumps before wasting £700 on coilovers, which the purpose of buying would be to lower the car. If I struggled with speed ramps I would have sold my wheels and gone for bigger wheels
But everything is fine, the car is about the height that I will be setting the coilovers to.
Next month I will get one or the other, so need to drive it low for a while.. I've already tackled the biggest speed bumps i know of and it just skimmed them, so success

It's looking good Lee. Go.with coil overs big wheels just make everthing to heavy.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I think it will be definately coilovers because my wheels fill the arches perfect now, even those stupid big rear ones.

Everything looks the correct proportion, I was just worried about making the car impractical because after some head scratching and measuring I've worked out my car is about 75mm lower than it was when I got it.
I have taken it over some horrible speed bumps and driving slowly it clears them, driving normally it skims them. My drive has a dip to get on it and it clears everything. So it's still practical. And looks the nuts low. Makes it look even wider.   s8) 8) s8)

Looking good If that price is ok send me your address but don't pay until your happy its all going to work. I did put them on my mk1 while I was going to put big arches on but decided against it as the front chassis legs had gone so I bought a nice mk1 with one rusty arch and keeping it standard well except for the engine.

I wasn't judging, it was a non loaded question...I was just interested to know how you lowered it so quickly!

Here's the new ride height.
rear arches look loads better, will get the wider spacers off dave, I've bolted 2 of my 30's together just to see if they were going to be too wide, but sit perfect. The wheels sit flush with the outside of the arch, I'm happy with the fronts as they are.

With the coilovers I will take it slightly lower on the front.
I'm also trying to strike a deal for some higher profile wider tyres.

Different coloured wheels for a bit of contrast?

I think with the wheels they would need to stay either dark, white or silver.. Adding more colour to the car would make me look like I'm driving a pack of skittles down the street!

Although I did consider the blue rim changing it to match the car.
