Looking great!! Definitely need to have a look at this beauty in the flesh!!

I wonder whether its just the photos. but I do still wonder whether slightly bigger wheels will finish the look. But then you could be looking at loosing some responsiveness and handling?

+ a hardtop would look pretty good aswell! If you have anymore magic paint left  s:) :) s:)

It's not the photos, it needs something doing.

I'm actually just looking into it today. I've sent a message on ebay to ask offset of some 18" wheels on there. They are a bit skanky but there is a powder coating company round the corner from me.
Also looking at higher profile tyres for the current wheels. 245/55 r17 for the rear. The Internet tells me that my arch gap will close up by 48mm which I'm not sure is too much. But at least it would lift the car off the deck too.

A bit more research then a decision. If I choose the wheels at least I can get the money back selling my rota's

Looks great in that photo Lee.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I cant bring myself to lift it back up. Really like the low stance it looks sooooo much wider but impractical, I've no chance with speed ramps.

Really like your wheels dave.... but can't afford any yet.
Think it will be wider and higher profile tyres for now.
I've been using willtheyfit.Com to do my sums. Just about made a decision. 235/50 17 on the rear and 215/50 17 on the front. Will get me up about 30mm and fill the arches for the low look.

Shouldn't be much worse than the stock ones in terms of side wall height.

Remember the profile is a % of the width, so will have an effect my guess is it might be too much profile.

I was just thinking in terms of side wall height, therefore stiffness  Rich.
55% of 215 (stock) is 118.25
50% of 235 is 117.5
There is not much in it.

The extra weight of the bigger wheel and bigger tyre might come into play though.

55? Ah maybe I should of looked the info up as I thought it was 50 on both. You could get some r888 the extra stiff side wall should help.

It will accelerate slower with the increased circumference so lee might have to turn the boost up  s:) :) s:)

Quote from: "Leethesparky". Just about made a decision. 235/50 17 on the rear and 215/50 17 on the front.

My bad Rich, the 55's are only on the front.
Stock rears are either 205/50 or 215/45
Stock fronts are either 185/55 or 195/50
Rears
50% of 205 (stock) is 102.5
50% of 235 is 117.5
Fronts
55% of 185 (stock) is 101.75
50% of 215 is 107.5

So the increase to the fronts in terms of sidewalls is about 6% increase.
For the rears it's about 15% increase. There may well be some extra movement in those side walls.

Yeah... change of plan. Made decision on the tyres.
235/45 17 rear
215/50 17 front
To keep the overall diameters the same
But I will be gaining about 23mm height and losing about 23mm wheel arch gap.
So should be good. Equivalent to 18" wheels on 40 profile tyre.

Also today arranged for a straight through exhaust to be made exiting either side of my number plate. Friends in the right places are great!. He will also modify the crossbeam thing to allow for the pipes to exit.
Get rid of that horrible back pressure heat and it will sound how it looks.   s:D :D s:D

Yes I'm interested too... I'm getting it done so it's got a long straight bit in then spirals round and splits in two, so I've got room to fit in a silencer if it's too loud.
