New tyres are on....

Not happy with the front, even though the diameters are the same the fronts look massive.

The rear needs dropping but I need shorter springs for the rear to drop it, then the rear will be perfect

I have completely lost my turning circle, the tyres foul the back of the inner arches. I've ground off as much as I can but its still not good enough.

Need to think   s:roll:  s:roll:

By the look of it the bigger wheels would have been the best option haha

Bigger wheels. Those arches need a bigger wheel, even with big tyres the wheels compared to the car look a bit silly

Why's the roof up? Sun is shining.  s;) ;) s;)

Staggered wheel sizes like on the face lift maybe help

Dodgy area Scott... Lol, left the car to go in the shop.

With the wheels, you are all missing the point of the dilemma (apart from Scott as that is probably the reason facelift use staggered).. If the wheels were 18" with low profiles and a et0 offset, the rolling circumference would be as it is now with the wheels sat as they are now. It would still be fouling the inner arch.
I can not get no where near full lock. The wheel hits the body at the inner arch just in front of the door. With the 17" and 40 profile tyres it just clipped a lip that goes around the inner arch. I have ground that back as much as I can.
With the larger diameter, I have no chance... What have other people done with wide arch kits?

The wife has had a few glasses of vino and this comment nearly made her wet herself.

Wheels are 7.5x17 et35 with 30mm spacers.

The new luxury parts kit has extended arches so the arch gap is not so big. I might take the arches to the wheels rather than keep trying to take the wheels to the arches.

Still here.....I fell out with the car for a while

Just deciding what to do with the wheels,

After lots of measuring and stuff, the best option is to lower the arches. Big wheels are not the answer, as they would need to be on low profile tyres so the overall diameter is no bigger than 215/40 17's or they will just hit the inner arches.

Missus is away for a few weeks, so going on a scrap yard crawl for inspiration. Been looking at Honda civic plastic wheel arch trims as I could fit these to reduce the arch and colour match them.

Exhaust will get done soon too,

But to keep me happy for now I've found a new hobby to occupy myself with, like a big kid.
FPV racing quadcopters..
Have a search on YouTube, it's actually quite fun   s:D :D s:D

it's awesome isn't it? Great buzz, same sort of feeling as driving on track. I feel knackered after about 20mins of flying...

you can be flying for about £200, and the good thing is that they are rock solid so you only break propellers which are to be viewed as a consumable like fuel in the car...

go to  w www.banggood.com w  and have a look. It's not porn, honest...!

The skill is epic! Best thing to do is find a copse of trees and just fly circuits around there and gradually improve your skills... it's a good way to de-stress after things not working out on the car how you want!!

Both mate!...turned onto an RC geek   s:D :D s:D

Gone all out, fat sharks, taranis transmitter, got a zmr250, nano qx for practice in the house, and just in the middle of building a 150 size racer full fpv ... Must have spent the price of some 18" wheels but meh   s:roll:  s:roll:
Nearly cut my finger off in the props today on the zmr, learnt to disarm it before I pick it up. It's a good speed buzz when I can manage 3 seconds without crashing.

Will start doing something with the car next week... Miss driving it, Already planning a full engine rebuild for January then before spring will be a proper map.
