Well,

We did a load of legwork - Looked at a Boxter, looked at a TT Roadster, test drove an 04 S2000 and finally went for a new MR2 Roadster  s:D :D s:D  ...

Gotta say the Boxter brochure was superb, £33K basic wasn't. Extra for wheels, leather, metallic, stereo etc. Finally looking at £36k+ - Yeah right! £2K off a Boxter S.

The TT was a 150 - £25K loaded, then about £1200 for remap to 200bhp and twin exhuast. Definite contender but in the end, we had two VAG cars and thats enough.

S2000 - Wow, went like a rocket. I really now understand about the VTEC's high lift cam at 6K rpm.  Brakes good too. Interior was rubbish. Boot space was same as MR2 in reality.

MR2 04 - Looked at changes in brochure, read the sticky on MR2ROC. Killer deal on ours. Nuff said - was a done deal. Someone want to let me know what driving the 6MT is like, can it do 65mph in second? What rpm at 70 mph in 6th? Thinking seriously about TTE exhaust and lowering springs.

Best pleased,
Ed

Congratulations  s:D :D s:D

In answer to one of your questions, yes it can do 65mph in 2nd, and if it's downhill, it creeps up to 70 ( allegedly  s;) ;) s;)  ).

Don't know what rpm off the top of my head for 70 in 6th, but I think it's around the 2.5k mark.

Definitely do the lowering springs. There is no compromise in ride quality, but the cornering is like it's on rails  s;) ;) s;)  Can't comment on the twin-exit exhaust as I haven't talked myself into getting one yet, despite all the excellent feedback they get on here  s;) ;) s;)
