Interesting, thanks for the info! How much did that set you back and where did you get it done?

A local exhaust builder sorted it for £50 was a good hours labour plus silencer material. The guy builds alot of stainless exhausts mainly for motor bikes.STG in Wakefield

Thank Tomo! Will pop in to my local independent exhaust specialist to see what they can do! Got my TTE second hand with about 60k miles on it, so i haven't really heard how it should sound in a "good" condition, but am pretty sure it's dronning  more than it should.

Useful information thanks.  In the middle of pre-cat removal, transpired the flange has gone on the back of my TTE so I'm hopefully going to find someone who can weld that up, didn't want to lose the exhaust.  Horribly loud with the throttle down at the moment lol

Joe, there's a place behind the Ford garage near Silverlink called The Exhaust Doctor. Very good work. His welding skills in particular are spot on.

People take some very very expensive and highly modified cars there for exhaust work.
And rates are good.
...neutiquam erro.

Patrick believe it or not that was the chap I called earlier today. Cheers for the recommendation though that's good to hear.

Probably comes down to my lack of understanding or inability to explain what the issue was but he didn't sound overly hopeful on the phone. Dick seemed fairly confident it could be welded though, so fingers crossed.

Wonder if they'd tackle welding the crossmember too

If someone has a product name of the insulation to externally wrap the silencers (for noise more than heat) that you can buy in small enough quantities to do a car I would be interested to know as I may be tempted to quieten mine down a bit if possible.
