I'm planning to hardwire my dash cam into the MR2 using a feed from the fusebox.

Does the window pillar trim remove reasonably easy? Do I need to worry about breaking anything?

Hi i fitted one yesterday i removed soft top bracket and sun visor on drivers side. pillar cover just pulls of
but be careful on rebuild that you don't crush the wire under the soft top bracket.

FWIW I recently ran a wire from the dome light to a couple of foot well lights without removing the soft top bracket. That thing is seriously stuck on there and I didn't want to risk rounding the head. I removed the dome light, removed the sun visors, removed the drivers side kick panel, pulled the trim down as little and as gently as possible, wired it up and pulled the cable through using a wire coat hanger (with electric tape on the end to minimize damage). I wouldn't advise doing this when the plastics are cold because it'll probably be more brittle.

Forgot to add I didn't damage anything. It was a quick and clean install. Took about 20 minutes.

Do not attempt to remove the torx head bolts which screw down  the soft top bracket.  They are a total PITA and you are likely to get yourself into a right mess.

Thanks guys managed to do it in the end without removing the torx bolts as they were really tight. Managed to just gently open the gap and feed it in. Was a PITA though getting the wire up from under the dash!!

Glad it worked out for you sorry i led you down wrong path with torx bolts but i didnt have much of a problem with mine and didnt realise others had.

Maybe someone had been there before and replaced them. They are usually thread locked and majorly tight which results in rounding off the heads. You indeed are very lucky.

Well done! I had this trouble when fitting the mic from my BT head unit. I tried and failed at getting the bracket bolts out. So tightened them and left them alone. I did have a bit of a turtle head moment however   s:oops: :oops: s:oops:
