Anyone use them??

I appreciate its an odd one, but as anyone who's read my posts knows my car burns through brakes on track which seems to be pretty much unheard of as oem brakes work well on even quite tuned cars, but mines just pushing too much.

I've started to fabricate a big brake kit to deal with the cooling, but part of me is being lazy, part of me also wants to keep the brakes small so I can keep to oem 15's and use a spare etc..

So i'm giving them one last go, I've swapped out my grooved discs for smooth which will definitely help, a new set of yellow stuff, and i'm going to add cooling ducts to help air-cool the brakes, if I can keep them a bit cooler they will last fine.

Anyone fitted any? (I need front+rear as both overheated), I've not looked into it yet, just wondering if anyones done it and what size pipe they got away with, where they took the inlets from, and how much longer it made the pads last etc..

Not tried brake ducts, but Yellowstuff at the power you are running are never going to last long. Have you faded then at all? For longevity and more heat tolerance, I'm going Carbotec next. I've had the Yellowstuff fade to nearly nothing when really pushing on for a prolonged period.

Not had them fade no, perhaps a plus side to the grooved discs I was running, they got hot enough that they melted off all the paint and became black stuff. Maybe with plain discs I'll get longer life but fade if gasses start to build up... Hopefully the ducting will keep them cool enough. I checked out other pads, but the prices are a bit silly in comparison and not sure how much longer they'd last either, love to hear any feedback you have when you try them in case I'm still playing round with this by then. But I kinda feel if I can get 2-3 sets for the same price I'd rather have them last 1/3rd the time and swap them out, then if a set fails I don't loose so much in one go.

I haven't run the carbotecs on my car yet, but I have driven a V6 car with them fitted and they modulate much better than Yellowstuff. They are twice the price or a bit more. Rogue tell me that Yellowstuff are good for maybe two or three track days, Carbotec for for more than twice as many.

Which carbotech are we talking about they make more than 1 compound.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'd be happy with 2-3 if I could get that out them. Last time they got me to the track, about 50mins on track and limped home.. Sounds like I'll definitely need to finish my big brakes if the ducts don't work then, if I can't get more than one out yellowed I may not get more than a couple out the carbo
