Sorry, I know this has probably been done to death but I have 3 different types of tyres on my FL. Two are cheap 'Happy Shopper' tyres on the front (Pace) and A Yokohama AD43 and  Bridgestone Potenza RE040 (215/45 R16)  on the back. All look pretty new, were on the car when I bought it last year.  I know optimum performance will be with the same all round. My question is do I change to all Bridgestones or Yokohama ? Which is best ? Or is that subjective ?  I know the Pace are rubbish so they will be Scumtreed.

Having the wheels powder coated in a couple of weeks and company doing it will fit and balance my new tyres on to my shiny new wheels if I have them delivered on site.  Might ask them to paint the calipers whilst they have her in there  :-) :-) :-)  Just don't know what to do about tyres....

Foxy has Falkens Kimmy, think I paid under £300.00 for all 4 last year.  I can't fault them.  s:D :D s:D   You must get those changed soon as, not good to have a mixture on these very sensitive cars!
Ex owners of Chilli red facelift 52 reg called Chilli, silver 55 reg called Foxy and blue pfl W reg MR-S called Sapphire. Now 2 less!

Hi Jane, yes absolutely, not a great set up by all accounts... will be done in the next few weeks, the tyres on there are all pretty newish, so can probably sell them on, just not sure which one of the best two to ditch and match up with 3 news ones...

Neither.
The bridgestone are hard to get hold of and i didnt think much of the ad43.
Toyo T1R or Falken 914 good tyres and easy on the wallet.
Uniroyal rainsport if the wet worries you.
Yokohama AD08R my personal favourite if you want the best out of your car without going for serious track tyres.
Toyo R888 if you want a track tyre

Hiya, just done a search on the Bridgestones, they are cheapest 92 each but they are available, and I will need 3.   Don't want track tyres so that rules that out. Falken ZE 914 ?  £69 each delivered with a quick search......seems very reasonable... I just didn't want to have to replace what isn't broken as such, but I do know they need to be the same if possible...

I'm quite taken with the Toyo T1-R for everyday use
Seems to be a nice all round tyre for not too much money
My local fitters did a full set of 4 with balancing on my PFL wheels for £180

I've had the same tyres on my MG ZR since last Autumn and they're more than capable in all conditions

Hmmm, I am thinking these might be the ones for me actually....investimagating....

Nobody ever mentions Nankang.  They are considered a premium grade tyre by the industry.  I use them and they are excellent.  If you look on Camskill, you'll find V rated in all the right sizes.  And they are inexpensive. (I deliberately didn't say 'cheap', 'cos that's the wrong connotation.)

An old member on here, Reme, used to swear by his Nankangs. And having driven behind him on a very hard run, i can confirm there was nothing wrong with the dry grip

Everyone was telling me the re040 were discontinued but as you say Kimmy all the usual suspects seem to have them.

I can vouch for the falkens and the Yoko AD08rs

Happy with both. The yokos are better, but then they should be given the £s diff.

I'm replacing mine next week and will go with Advan Neovas AD08Rs to replace my AD05/AD06s, which are the best tyres I've had so far.  RE040s I remember were good but I can't find them now either.
I found my T1-Rs awful.  They seemed good value but they lasted half as long as any other tyre, and I lost any steering sharpness due to their soft sidewalls.  I wouldn't even have them for the 6 mile journey I do most days.  Not a fan  :-) :-) :-)

I think a set of AD08rs are around £400-£420 so if RE040s are £90 all round, I'd go AD08r - less tramlining for one thing.

You can still get the rears. Fronts are as rare as hen's teeth. Last made in 2013 (which is what I have on my fronts).

Toyo t1r
Falken 914
Hankook
Uniroyal rainsport
Yoko ad08

I've not any issues with any of them, cheapest option to order via camskills and get a local tyre fitter to install
Another one won't hurt  .....

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo's are great value for money. Perfect in dry and wet. Daily driven.

So many different tyres, so many happt customers!

Maybe it would be more helpful to list the ones NOT to use.

Me: Continentals.

That's cheap for AD08r's! Is that including VAT?

& have you ordered staggered sizes?
