Thankfully only painful to the pocket    s:) :) s:)
Was slowing down because I heard a strange rumbling, then it blew and I had to drive 500 yards to get onto a slip road hence tyre ripped apart.
Brand new yokohama ad08, gone,   s:cry:  s:cry:
10 minutes to change the tyre then into work for 05:15, glad it wasn't rush hour.
New tyre tomorrow   s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:

Good to know it didn't happen at high speed. Did you say it was a new tyre that had blown. If so what sort of temperature was the wheel when you took it off.
You either need to get the tyre back to where you bought it or your calliper checked. Unless you inflated the tyre when it was hot   s:( :( s:(

Hi Tomo,  the tyre had gone less than a 1000 miles. Took it back to where I bought it, he thinks I must have gone over a pothole which blistered the inside side of the tyre. The blister then rubbed and blew  s:-( :-( s:-(
All replaced now  :-) :-) :-)

Excellent, good to know you got it sorted.
I personally get quite anal about tyres, tyre pressures and condition. It winds me up when i see people using illegal tyres and tyre saver wheels ( for longer than required, ie getting you to a garage.)

Yup, got it sorted but can't get back into driving the 2 again yet. That feeling when you don't know for sure what the problem was and whether it's going to happen again.
Wasn't scary, just can't afford another £105   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:
Doesn't help that I took that wheel off and cleaned/painted the calliper the weekend before, sure it was nothing to do with it,  but there's always a niggling doubt   s:? :? s:?
Anyway raining today so in the kia   s8) 8) s8)
