Sony WX BT 900 issues

I've noticed that whenever ( or very often ) the songpal phone app gets an update I'll often lose the ability to call via Bluetooth..

I've been fixing it by uninstalling every thing and re pairing the connection.

Last time though this has not been the case. Anyone else have this problem?

How about dont bother using the app.
What advantages does it have?
I dont on my sony or pioneer just connect via Bluetooth. Pioneer just starts playing music sony needs a prod.

Well I wouldn't it it if I could figure out how to do hands free with out the app...
