Emanage blue misbehaving.

This is on the supercharger car.  Can't get the Emanage to behave.  It will start up one time, fairly ok, then next time over-fueling like a bugger.  With the Emanage out, the car idles clean and revs up fine.  I' have MAP sensor (Emanage calls it a boost sensor) and I'm thinking it is telling porkies.  I've got 2zz yellow injectors in, and the regular ECU deals with them ok.
I have nothing in the Airflow map...  no richeinig instruction in fuel map at low boost, and ignition conservative but no meddling at idle.
I've double checked all the connections...
Mystified... any ideas?

I can bring mine up with me next time I come up if you want to use it as a sanity check.

Can you log sessions with EMB? Might be useful to know if it thinks it's doing the same thing each time and what the sensors are saying.

Are the airflow adjustment dials on the front panel zeroed?
...neutiquam erro.

Yes.  Jumpers correct.

Not driveable with Blue in place... can't even run it for long... and don't know how to access log.

No not jumpers. I mean the dials for the airflow.
Basically I had some awkward starting sporadically and it turned out I had the first two airflow adjustment dials set too high

Could try unplugging the map. Obviously load up a temporary separate map

Dials good.  I meant that jumpers are good too.

At idle, the map I have does nothing.

I had a problem with my emanage not starting correctly so it just left all the signals in cut-through and the stock ECU couldn't cope with having 440cc injectors! When this occurred the emanage wouldn't talk to a laptop or the Profec E-01.

The cause turned out to be a bad earth on the emanage.

I'll check that -thanks.  My injectors are nothing like that big, though.

Anything bigger than stock and you will have an issue as the ECU will be in open loop (and ignoring the O2 sensors) until the water temp comes up.

Did you put the injector size in the settings?
...neutiquam erro.

Carolyn

#14
Yep  injector size is in there.  The engine runs fine with the yellow injectors and no Emanage.  When I say rich, I mean billionaire!  I shall put the Emanage back and leave the boost sensor disconnected....

Have you checked the boost sensor is actually giving the required outputs.  I think its a sliding scale from 0-5v

Carolyn

#16
That's where I'm leaning... I'll check that.  Thanks Gary.

should read 1.5V with 0 boost 0 vacuum if its the 3 Bar sensor

Just thought. Open loop trick splices into an earth wire. All ok there?

I'm busy going through all the connections.  I'll leave the trickery out for now- simpler the better.

Thanks for all the help, guys.  We'll get the bugger.

Any clues?
To be honest I'm very surprised that the stock ECU is tolerating the bigger injectors without any other changes. Clever ecu  s:) :) s:)

Went through all the connections.... didn't find anything suspicious,  put it back in.  It is now behaving itself (ish).  Not silly rich anymore.  Still programming mysteries to solve, but getting there.  If anything we're now a bit lean.
I've been nicking the ignition on voltage for the wideband AFR from the harness - probably not the best place to take it from.  Going to get under the steering wheel and take the connections from there.
