Hi, My boyfriend has been doing a service for me on my 2005 and was surprised that there were no under engine panels fitted which he thinks were standard. The car was rear end shunted sometime ago and as the bumper was refitted by the repairers using used and broken clips (and not all of them) I am wondering if the panels,if any, were removed and not replaced. Can anybody out there tell me  if they were originally fitted to this model?

There should be 3 panels along the length of the car. Front, mid and rear.
Generally referred to as 'nappies'.
A lot of people leave them off, for various reasons.
The Sun is out, the sky is blue,
The roof is down on my MR2,
And I\'m grinning, grinning ear to ear!

Yup, completely superfluous to requirement.
If your car has passed it's MOT, then you'll know that the subframe is OK.
I didn't, because I had nappies on.

Thanks to you all and no, he is not " bahnstormer"............as far as I know!  If majority opinion is that panels are not essential I will leave as is - maybe in our climate they just retain wet atmosphere anyway. Thanks again.
