Hi all,

I've downloaded the hardtop fitting instructions from the Reference section of the website.  I'm hoping to have a mess this weekend to try and get things to line up a bit better.  The mounts were originally fitted by someone else.

Reading through, some torque numbers seem to be written as a range. For example, fastening the side strikers it says 'Fastening Torque: 7.8Nm - 18.2Nm'.  That seems like quite a large difference.  Does it just mean it needs to be within that range? Or is one bolt 7.8 and the other 18.2?

The seatbelt bolt has an exact number of 42Nm so I'm more confident with that one.

Thanks all  s:) :) s:)

Well I guess that is one way to do it! I wasn't expecting it to have a torque number at all tbh. If I'd been doing it without the instructions I would have just tightened it tight like yourself.

Me too.
On two different 2s.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

It makes me feel uneasy not following instructions but I'll probably just do what you guys did then.

Convinced  I posted the other day, but not showing.

I take it to mean. No less than and no more than the figures stated.

Thank you all. Actually didn't get around to having a mess this weekend but have borrowed a torque wrench for when I do!
