Hi    having a twin or quad exhaust over a single exhaust do they impact on the power of the vehicle, at moment have standard exhaust and am thinking of changing.

If running normally aspirated it doesn't make a huge difference, I think one of the best aftermarket ones is the team Moon exhaust which gives around 5bhp, I have the stock TTE (Remus) twin exhaust, it sounds amazing but probably doesn't give much extra power.

I would however suggest swapping out the exhaust for a lighter one as although it might not give extra power it will reduce the weight - also get a decat exhaust manifold if you haven't got one already.

The TTE is actually frightfully heavy I found. Just sounds loooovely  s:) :) s:)

No TTEs about at moment  and Team Moon not made any more, any ideas about  Powerflow or Proflow exhausts ?

TTE does not add any BHP, so my Toyota Dealer told me & it's what I've told my insurance company for the past 13 years!!!
Agree with everyone else, it does sound fantastic so sod it if it adds a bit of weight.   s:D :D s:D

They come up for sale now and then stay close to eBay / roc and gumtree.

I might be sorting out my exhaust at some point so I will have a TTE for sale - will probably be going for a custom manifold back system ready for when a turbo gets bolted on!

I have a proflow with a sports cat and one of Hamish's manifolds.  I noticed a little increase in torque from the manifold (fitted originally with stock exhaust) its probably a little lighter than the stock one.  The exhaust doesn't seem any lighter than stock but the main cat is a little lighter. If I've gained 5bhp I'd be surprised but it does sound well.

Thanks for replies, looks like a waiting game, nearest  Proflow dealer is about 4 hrs drive each way.

Hi anyone know about Powerflow exhaust,  performance wise and sound compared to Cobra TTe etc, just wondering if its worth a 3 hour drive to pick one up.

The sound is a bit on the loud side on mine but that could be exaggerated on mine due to the high flow cat.  To be honest I'm far from impressed with the welding on the ProFlow I have.  Each one will be different depending on which garage fabricates it though, presumably using a Proflow kit.  Mine looks like it was welded up by a Stevie Wonder standing in for the regular fabricator.  For the price I paid I can complain.

There's a tte for sale on bookface for £300. If you pair it with a toyosport (or better Hamish's) manifold, you'll get perfection - not too noisy.

Well that is a bit of a bummer, the guy is now selling it on Umtree for £400, after he agreed the sale to me for £300, just shows you cant trust some people.

I'll be honest here, he's quite shameful. I have no problem with people selling stuff at a profit if they picked it up with good intentions, but he's barely owned these bits for a couple of months, haggled with everyone to get them for a song and is selling them at extortionate prices. £300 is honestly top end and I told him so when he bought his.

We all helped him source the stuff too, because he said he was on a tight budget.

Fwiw the longlife i picked up beginning of last year is still perfect, and the build is good.
It is quieter than the tte but has more low rev burble.
If I hadn't found this I'd have got a custom one made, probably best option if you cant wait.
