Got a phone call 3 weeks ago saying the parts were in. 2 weeks ago got a phone call saying they weren't but were expected so car booked in for today. They picked it up from work and at 3 o'clock phoned up to say that.....

1. Replaced the rear light clusters (Fogged up by the time I got home)  s:x :x s:x

2. Changed "something" to help line up the exhaust pipes (look worse than they did before)  s:x :x s:x

3. Tried to polish out the marks on the door trim. (Failed, still as bad)  s:cry:  s:cry:

4. Looked into the cat while the exhaust was disconnected to find that the honeycomb material was breaking up.   s:shock:  s:shock:    s:shock:  s:shock:  (Ordered new cat)

5. Forgot to order heatshield (Now on order)  s:? :? s:?

6. Ordered 4 new wheels as I had reported the usual bubbling effect.  s:) :) s:)

So no further forward really but at least it got washed.  s:D :D s:D

The vibration is still as bad as ever and as I thought, it is damaging something. (The cat) To fit the new cat they will have to take the rear bumper off which means the joint should get sorted. (So they say).

To be continued when heatshield, cat, wheels and the Smart Repair guy for the door are available.

Hope its finished by Sept./ Oct......It'll be up for sale!!

 - Re Your Exhaust...   Quote [One of the original problems was that there is a vibration from the exhaust when pulling off or under load.]

I've also got TTE pipes and had similar vibration. (Ie If you approach a corner in second with very low revs - engine under load you get a vibration/"burble" from the exhaust. Was a pig to drive in traffic as from stationary you have to load the revs to overcome the vibration)

I asked MrT to look at it this week as I suspected a loose baffle in exhaust.
To my surprise they ID 'd the problem as Auxiliary drive belt tensioner and belt replacement (see known issues and other FAQs) (I had a bit of a ticking at Idle - but hardly evident - so I was a little sceptical).
Got car back yesterday - and engine is transformed (I no longer sound like a mini TVR when engine under load - mega smooth to pull away under load and actually sounds deeper and more metallic. - Just a thought it may be similar to your prob.

For what it's worth my TTE' have been 1 and 1/2 inch out of alignment from when car was bought used - but lthey are level and that's the way they are staying.

Best of luck - with the fixes!

Pete
