The Mustang has as many hp as the Mini weighs in kilos.

That mini was flying!!
Brilliant driving from both. He could not have gotten more out of that Mustang's cornering ability. Really fun to watch
...neutiquam erro.

Petrus

The Mustangs were all way down the Minis in qualifying.
In racing they were further up because of being such effective road blocks, slowing down the Minis on slower lines.

It is a clear illustration of being fast in acceleration/top speed versus fast in the rest.

Also a stellar example of respectful racing btw. Imo thé most impressive of an in all other aspects also impressive race.

Look at the front camber angles on the 64 Mustang around 4.30...

But look how neutral the front is on a heavy bend. Perfect for that car it seems

Definitely, I've seen them do it in the flesh, big old boats wallowing around but getting it done! You should have a day at the Classic Pat, some very mixed grids going at it especially in the touring and sports car classes.

The events I'd attend if we lived further south.... :(

When we visited Carolyn last year for getting the standalone on Jack we were just in awe of all the car-related things around there. Beautiful scenery up here and all but bugger all else for the car scene.

Go to the southern edge of Europe and the scenery gets better still. A true drivers´ paradise but the car scene is inverted into near oblivion.
´Tuning´ is converted into a mockery meaning custom paint and boom boxes; sound systems with more kilowatts than the engine!!

That said, the rally scene is pure fun to wátch. There are preciously few events and it´s not worth preparing a car for but the result is a bewildering mix of cars entered; form a field of 25 y.o. hot hatches to the two/three front runners using the lastest stuff with the rest of car history in between.
No circuit races btw.; that was all but dead before the crisis and has become extinct since.

Anyway; there is no substitute for lightness!

True, Silverstone isn't too bad for me and we stay in a hotel at Northampton and commute in and out but it would have to be something pretty special to drag me down to Brands Hatch again, that's a proper chore to get to.
I'm looking at doing Moffatt again this year but don't know about the 9 hour scenic route just yet [emoji23].

Brands is easy.
Less than 30 mins for me but I've never been.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Took me longer than that to clear the Dartford crossing coming home.

Reminds me of Snetterton in the late 60's early 70's. Jimmy Clarke in a Lotus Cortina, magic.
