So next month it is time to take the beast back out of the garage after it's winter hibernation.  :D
Last year I did absolutely nothing with it maintenance wise after it's last long sleep as it does less than 1000 miles a year and I had no problems with it (except for a leaky nos solenoid).
Fired it up for the first time in 3 months the other week and let it run for 20 mins and it started and ran like a dream!
So, my question is - is it worth doing an oil and filter change this time as it is unlikely to do many miles once again this year?

Absolutely worth it. Sitting doing no miles really doesn't do an engine any good and the 1zz gets enough issues as it is.
You should see the Skid Factory video I posted in another thread.  Extreme low mileage holden Commodore 40 thousand km in say 30 years. Oil had turned to sludge and the water galleries had rust in them. Cleaned up lovely but had to be taken to bits.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

If you phrase the question as "do I want to help preserve the life of my engine for less than the cost of a tank of fuel", the answer has to be YES!
