Toyo Tyres - Whats a good price?

I Put a thread up on Friday but it seems to have disappeared. So whats a good price for T1R been quoted £60 for 185/55 by 55 and £66 for 205/50 by 15 including vat and fitting locally?

Apologies, I moved it but forgot to include a post with a redirect. Discussion was price related rather than performance or maintenance related, hence the move to chit chat and gossip.

I've been happy with Toys for 12 years or so this will be my third set now. Bit of road noise but generally v good in dry ok wet but a tad slippery of freshly wet roads.

Personally I'd usually avoid Toyo T1R's from my previous experiences of them on my Clio 182's. However, having just bought a MR2 I see tyre options aren't that great. So i'm not really in a position to offer any advise on a better option.

I do run Yoko AD08R's on my Clio which are available in MR2 sizing, but they're probably overkill for most people on here. I find these grip better in the wet than T1R's, but are leagues ahead in dry conditions. I'll probably end up with these on the 2 once the Toyo's fitted wear down a bit more, will need to consider how i use it though.

Hi,

Owned the MR2 Roadster since new, so I thick I know what i'm talking about... that will be 19 years...

Bridgestone / Yoko's where OEM units...

The RE040 Bridgestone's aren't available in the sizes the MR2 needs now...

When this happened I moved over to Toyo T1-R's which have proved to be good tyres, now on my third set....

the character is a little different the bridgestone's which was a block construction, this is a V space tyre...

But are progressive, so for all but the most aggressive driving you will be fine.

As for prices - I use black circle...

just put in a re-order on my account and getting prices of :

£65.32 Rears
£60.30 Fronts

So pretty good prices...

As long as they are balanced correctly and have the correct pressures in, they should give you grip and longevity.

Jesus we are doing this again.
Toyos are fine especially if your car has stock power levels and you more interested in value over ultimate performance.

If you haven't tried ADO08R or another serious performance tyre then imho you are missing out.

I've got new toyos on my blue car. Grip parked in my back garden these past couple of months has been faultless.
