Have you got a complete list of all the things you have removed?

Beejeezes, thát would take a while and even thén I would forget a few thinagmies. I think it is nicely summed up by me having taken off the little bracket for the nappies on the lower engine mount...

Oh come on, think about the weight saved and you ´save´ over 200$ too.

If I were t be tempted along this endless path I'd go for the full Monty Spartan look and NOT have the kit at the full $595!

@Petrus has to be the weight saving Master/ Meister, even his significant other passenger/s help out with minimal apparel.

I top you; I´d take the seat and áll of the carpeting out for free myself and thén the heavyweight soundproofing as a bonus.
I bet it is a shocking lot heavier than the miserly harvest from the MR2.

Quote from: Petrus on December 27, 2020, 13:41Following responses about functionality and in the US ´ricer´ in connetion with modifications had a quick look at the various MR2 subjects on several fora where the distinction was easy. The relative ´priority´ (the amount threads):

Appearance:             3

Performance (engine):   6

Handling/ suspension:   1

Power given twice the attention appearance get, which gets three times the attention the handling gets.

Does the above equate to, I want to get there as fast as I can with my car looking good, fast as in a straight line. You know the old saying "power is nothing without control"

Each to their own

Indeed each to their own so I draw no conclusion.

Modding is a journey and dependant on what your end game is, so a Track focussed car will be entirely different to a fast road car, budget and taste also have influence

For me I was lucky to purchase at the time a mechanically vastly improved car, with sufficient performance for my occasional road use so Appearance became my driver to put my stamp on it and make it unique.

I am in the process of a final change, might not meet with everyone's approval but my car my way, watch this space

Best answer so far.

Building a nice touring sports car where comfort and adequate performance is important is going to have very different priorities compared to building a track car.  Our MR2 is driven mostly on back roads where the driving can be pretty aggressive, so power and handling are much more important than appearance.  Driver preference comes into it as well.  My wife ranks power slightly above handling, and I prefer handling slightly over power.

But as she puts it, you can't see the outside from the drivers seat, so who cares much about appearance.  (Her previous daily driver was a Mazdaspeed 3 which she thought was seriously ugly)

My one gf prefers power over handling too. The other two prefer perfect handling.
Me, I am leaning increasing towards the latter as age moves on ;-)
