I've got the 2004 price Toyota price list.  Standard car cost £17,145 on the road and combined hard top plus air conditioning was an additional £2,400.  You could only get the hard top with aircon though aircon was available on its own at £900.

For the record, other options were:

Body Kit £850
Chrome Pack £900
Leather Upholstery £500
Custom Leather Upholstery £695
Metallic Paint £350

From the March 22nd 2000 Toyota 'UK Press Release' brochure:

It will cost £18,495 on-the-road making the new MR2 Roadster great value
for money as well as a great drive.

Optional equipment available on the MR2 Roadster includes air conditioning at £900, leather
upholstery at £500 and a colour coded hard top at £1,500.

I guess the aircon and hard top were available separately in 2000, although the total price is the same.
