As I recall, the FL driveshafts are a little thicker than the PFL, but I think both will fit on either car.

Quote from: ruud2boy on October  9, 2025, 06:30As expected, after 2 other garages said they couldn't find it, my guy identified the problem & sent me a video showing / explaining it within 90mins of getting his hands on it. The clonking is evidently down to the inner CV joint and driveshaft at the OSR reaching the end of their life.
To quote my man 'The [CVJ] bearing cage is moving on the shaft. That'd indicate that the splines [presumably on the driveshaft] are worn. The bearings are practically rattling'.
So, I'm in need of a replacement driveshaft. Can anyone point me in the direction of a reliable supplier where I might be able to source one? I've contacted MR2Ben, JSpec & TCBParts - along w/ a Japanese website, JP-carparts. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Back to this again. I spoke too soon it seems. After much investigating and replacing both driveshafts (Huge thanks to @Gaz mr-s for furnishing me with these from his spares pile), the clonking remains and more importantly, the source remains unidentified. So, I find myself now in need of recommendations for MK3 / MR2 specialists in the North who might have more luck in diagnosing this. Any suggestions?

Maybe right Enginemount? The Engine moves away from the firewall(slightly) when you step on gas. Could be worn out or loose. Quick check.Remove charcoal canister and take a look when another person is playing with the gaspedal.

That's a blow.  So are the shafts that came off ok?

Jack adv he's "pretty certain it's not the engine mountings as they appear intact & are cushioning as expected".

Well, the assumption has to be that the shafts that came off were in a worse state after 152k than the ones I obtained from your good self w/ just 62k on them. I offered the old ones to a couple of refurbisher type places, but had no replies so I assume they've gone to scrap.
