Thanks, that sounds reassuring. The car is assembled again. Let's see what the MOT ppl will say next week.

A bit of feedback about the cables for anyone who might have a question whether to go for OEM Toyota cables or the aftermarket ones.
I bought Toyota but as a plan B I've also ordered the Borg & Beck ones from the local car parts shop.
There is a huge difference in quality of the grommets, sleeves and the brackets. Especially the brackets from the B&B are very different to original ones. Both cables move freely though.
