HELP: with a Broken SMT (of course!) - North West London

The inevitable has arrived

Car started playing up one day, after mechanic had checked and topped up the fluid.

Not sure what exactly was done or what caused it, but since the fluid was played with, the car never changed the same.

Drove the car for a few hours thinking nothing of it, eventually ended up close to home and the car was having issues going into each gear, missing some, getting stuck in some, and other general transmission related issues (clunks, flashing gear indicator, non starts, etc)

Now at the point of needing an expert to check it out and see if it can be fixed.

I think the car is now not starting, and mechanic has taken a look but hit a brick wall.

Is there anyone with the expert knowledge around this way that can check it out. Not expecting a fix for free, happy to pay for your time and towards any solutions to the issue/s.

With a basic code reader, the following codes popped up on the first day of problems. It may or may not have more/less codes by now after it's been played with by the mechanic.

P1646 transmission control ecu malfunction
P1647 CAN communication malfunction
ECMECT (engine and ect)

Hoping someone can help this car, rather than it going off to a scrapper !!!

as mentioned in your other smt related threads there have been mention of at least 2 good sources of smt youtube videos.

From your codes alone seems a communication error. is the info being sent? is it being received?
Matter of logical fault diagnosis.

I don't have one, but did repair one after it came back 'dead' from a garage.
I don't like pushing people away from this site, but your best source for help is the Facebook Spyder SMT page.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/656921144477464/ There are a few on there that can answer anything.
To diagnose it you really need Techstream, - you'll get help on there as to how to get it.
