Ok, here's the scenario, going 75 down the highway in 5th. pull it out of gear to coast down a big hill, revs drop to idle, on the upslope still going 75, I try to put it back into 5th and it grinds like a bitch. but when I rev it up to say, 4000 and then put it in gear, no grind. what the hell. does it in 4th in the same scenario, just a little slower ya know. but not 1-3.

The morale of the story is leave it in gear... You are tring to put the car back in gear when it is travelling at a fast speed and the revs are at idle shocking the engine as it has to get back to the running rpm   s:? :? s:?

Trouble with youngsters nowadays, never heard of double declutch, though in this scenario its probably a single declutch   s:wink:  s:wink:
